History (Brief History and Milestones of the School)
Nirmala Mata High School is a co-educational institution conducted by the Gyanmata Educational Society.
This school was founded on 30th June 1962 by Rev. Fr. Thomas Machado of the Archdiocese of Goa and Daman. In 2006 the school was handed over to Gyanmata Education Society Khanvel (DNH). It was started to meet the needs of the people of Diu for education in English Medium. It achieved one of its goals when its pupils appeared for the Secondary School Certificate Examination in March 1976, Cent percent results in the S.S.C. Examination in March 1978 crowned its achievements. It’s founder, Fr. Thomas Machado, as its Principal and Teacher for 17 years gave his life and soul for its upbringing till he breathed his last on 6th March, 1982, The strength of the School is on the increase every year.
The school is recognized by the Directorate of Education, Government of Goa, Daman and Diu. It is also recognized by the Gujarat Education Board.
The school prepares pupils for the S.S.C. Examination with an integral approach for life in society.
