Introduction & History (Brief History and Milestones of the School)
Education from time immemorial has been one of the best gifts God has offered
to the people the world over and in a special way to the poor and down trodden
transforming their lives into enlightened active and vibrant people for the dissemination of righteous justice, peace, and harmony to the society, nation and the world.
The second Vatican council Document: “Gravissimum Educationis states: that “The church as a mother is under obligation to provide for her children an education by which their whole life may be inspired by the power of God, offering service to all people for the promotion of a well balanced human personality for the good of society and for the development that is more humane.”
Stella Maris High School is a co-educational institution managed by the Gyanmata Educational Society. It is located in Daman. The school was started in 1992 by the Pilar Fathers, with the primary aim of imparting education and basic values to the children of the locality.
Stella Maris High School promotes the well-being of all its students, regardless of class, caste or creed.
Stella Maris High School was originally functioning up to Standard VII. With the approval and blessings of the Provincial Superior and Council, Standard VIII was introduced in the year 2011. Following this, Standard IX was added in the year 2012 and eventually in the year 2013, the school expanded further to include Standard X we got index no. 71.0018. This gradual growth marked an important milestone in the school’s journey toward becoming a Full-Fledged High School, dedicated to the all-round development of its students.
The school follows the three-language formula:
- English as the First Language (FL)
- Hindi as the Second Language (SL)
- Gujarati as the Second Language (SL)
