Gyanmata Educational Society Khanvel, founded by the Pilar Fathers, has been pioneering rural education since the last four decades and more. Beginning with establishing Marathi Medium schools for the local adivasis, to starting English Medium education through the Gyanmata English School Khanvel, Gyanmata Educational Society has been in the forefront in addressing the need for the development of the people.
Gyanmata English High School Khanvel, following in the footsteps of its parent body, the Gyanmata Educational Society Khanvel, has been a pioneer in bringing English medium education to the Adivasi belt of Dadra and Nagar Haveli. Since its inception, the school has been tireless in its efforts of providing good education to the people of the area. Science Labs: Teaching science and technology requires a blend of classroom teaching and practical work. Conducting experiments, reviewing them closely, developing logical reasoning, and responding to analytical comments, are some of the valuable skills that help in preparing the next generation of scientists, engineers, and medical professionals.
With this in mind, the school is developing a state of the art science laboratory. The lab is being specifically designed keeping in mind the type of equipment used and the nature of experiments that need to be performed.
Library: Books are no doubt man’s best friend and we need to get children to experience and discover this joy for themselves. At the same time one cannot ignore the attractions and distractions that technological wizardry brings with it today. Therefore the role of libraries in schools has become even more challenging.
The School is in the process of building its library. The library is open Monday to Saturday between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Older students can issue reference books for a period of one week from the library. In addition the library has a wide range of story books, novels and other reading material available. Regular book exhibitions are now being held in school to enrich the library and instill reading habits in children.
